Ontario to keep provincial parks closed until May 31..
The Ontario government has extended the closure of all provincial parks until May 31.
Health Minister Christine Elliott said in a statement, “We understand this extension may impact many Ontarians’ plans during the month of May but the health and well-being of Ontarians is our government’s number one priority.”
This includes car camping, backcountry camping, roofed accommodations, day-use opportunities, access points, and all public buildings.
Reservations for arrivals up to the closure extension will be automatically cancelled and reservation holders will receive a full refund with no penalty.
The province is currently under a state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is in effect until May 6.
